For quite some time I have not been to Peruva so does not know what is happening. Still the place givs me great memories in terms of green paddy fields , coconut oil extraction, flor mill etc... may be the Bakeries in the town centre is nice.... PLMS, Jyothi and Trasnsport might be plying through the roads even now with renewed enthusiasm..... 

Faiths

Peruva does have several Churches and Temples. Churches with Syrian Orthodox denomination (methran kakshi & bava kakshi) and Catholic Churches Roman Catholic and Syrain Catholic. Apart from several prayer groups which does have various beliefs. Peruva Temple is one of the major landmark of Peruva. Good serene atmoshphere and lots of faithfull. Smaller temples are plenty and scattered across the region. But Muslim faith is not present in Peruva but some time before there were some families staying in rented houses.

About public utility services

Peruva does have a post office (686610), Govt School's - one for boys and another for girls, Telephone Exchange with mobile tower (BSNSL), Banks - Central bank of India, Federal Bank and several cooperative banks in organised sector and so many private banks (generally called blade bank). Couple of Petrol bunks 1 in Peruva Thalayolaparambu road (1.5km) and one in peruva kottayam road (1.5km). krishibhavan, vetinary hospital, homeopathic hospital, private hospitals, and govt medical centre are for general public to use. panchayat ofiice (mulakulam) is also at peruva. Then both the govt schools does have +2 (11th and 12th) std attached. VHSC - vocational higher secondary course is attached with govt boys school. by all means there are lot of services which could be acecessed at Peruva itself.

Railway station (Piravam Road) is around 6km away from Peruva junction and almost all major trains stops over. There is a major crowd travelling to Ernakulam daily for work or business and several govt offices and colleges at Kottayam and Ernakulam.

What is special about Peruva?

Peruva is the township of Hindustan News Print Ltd. So the people who are working with HNL (Locally also called HPC) come over to Peruva for their domestic purchases. Also a major market place where household items are available rather than going over to bigger towns. Schools banks and government offices are located around Peruva. So invariably the local population come over for one matter or other to Peruva junction.

This is the first post of myperuva and i hope this will go a long way in dispersing information about our small town called Peruva. Peruva is situated in the Indian sub continant in the state of Kerala, in the District of Kottayam, Taluk is Vaikom, Panchayat is Mulakulam, Lokshabha constituency is Kottayam and Assembly constituency is Kaduthuruthy. Centraly located between towns of Kaduthuruthy & Piravam (8Km from either side). Also from Koothattukulam (16Km) and Thalayolaparambu (14Km).
